La manifestazione di riferimento per l'intero settore della nautica da diporto organizzata da Fiera di Genova SpA e UCINA, l'associazione di categoria dell'industria nautica da diporto italiana. Con la partecipazione  di oltre 1650 aziende, centinaia di novità annunciate in anteprima  e un alto tasso di internazionalità (oltre il 35% di espositori esteri) - la rassegna si svilupperà nei settori delle imbarcazioni a motore, a vela e pneumatiche, motori, abbigliamento tecnico, attrezzature per la pesca e la subacquea, turismo nautico e servizi.

Ad accogliere i visitatori del Salone - un visitatore su tre si ferma almeno una notte a Genova e la percentuale sale al 50% tra i visitatori professionali -  si sta delineando in città un ricco programma di mostre ed eventi.

A Palazzo Rosso, a partire dal 4 ottobre, appuntamento con "Il Tormento e l'Estasi" ovvero i San Sebastiano di Guido Reni, un meraviglioso percorso di capolavori provenienti dai più importanti musei del mondo. Sempre nelle sale di Palazzo Rosso, fino al 9 dicembre, si potrà visitare "Forma e Decorazione - Herend e la via della porcellana" la mostra espone vasellame di alta qualità artistica, proveniente da uno dei maggiori centri di produzione europei con sede in Ungheria. I pezzi esposti, che vanno dall'Ottocento al Novecento, si potranno ammirare anche al Museo d'Arte Orientale Edoardo Chiossone fino al 14 ottobre. Nella stessa sede, fino al 30 dicembre, si svolgerà la mostra dal titolo "Kabuto - l'elmo giapponese", una splendida collezione di elmi antichi. Al Castello d'Albertis si svolgerà la mostra "L'Anima delle piccole cose - Arte del quotidiano in Costa d'Avorio". La rassegna offre una selezione di oggetti, scolpiti nel legno scuro della terra africana, come pettini, cucchiai, bobine per telai, martelli musicali e piccole maschere. Negli oggetti l'artista trasmette e rappresenta i rituali e i miti che animano la vita sociale e spirituale nella Costa d'Avorio.

Il Museo della Lanterna di Genova ospiterà la mostra "Storia della Nave in Bottiglia", organizzata da Muvita e Provincia di Genova, un'affascinante rappresentazione di 30 opere, realizzate da Aidano Dallafiora a testimonianza di una grande passione.
Tra i pezzi esposti il modellino dell'Amerigo Vespucci, Nave scuola della Marina Militare, contenuta in una fiasca ottocentesca e realizzata nel 1983, la S. Maria Ammiraglia di Colombo, realizzata nel 1980 con legno naturale e la Storia della nave, lavoro complesso soprattutto per lo studio e la ricerca dei dieci modellini inseriti che vanno dalla barca di papiro del 3500 a.C. al primo piroscafo a propulsione nucleare "Savannah USA 1959". Infine non poteva mancare un omaggio al simbolo di Genova "La Lanterna", realizzata con mattoncini di legno dolce. La mostra si potrà visitare fino al 4 novembre 2007.

Nella nuova area dell'Acquario di Genova denominata "Fiumi dell'Amazzonia", viene rappresentato un tratto di un fiume amazzonico con rocce, tronchi d'albero, piante acquatiche e terrestri e diverse specie di pesci tropicali. Protagonisti sono i caimani nani di Cuvier, ma ad attendere il pubblico ci sono anche altre novità, tra le quali i nuovi percorsi di visita, che consentono ai visitatori di immergersi a tutto tondo nel mondo Costa Edutainment e riscoprire tutti i segreti e le curiosità di un luogo che non finisce mai di sorprendere ed emozionare, ma anche di educare al rispetto della natura. La mostra "Transatlantici italiani. Dall'unità d'Italia alla seconda Guerra Mondiale" al Galata Museo del Mare, fino al 12 ottobre 2007. Un viaggio a bordo delle grandi imbarcazioni a vapore, dai primi piroscafi fino alle fantastiche navi da crociera con suggestivi effetti multimediali. Lungo il percorso della mostra è allestita la nuova sala del "Piroscafo" con la riproduzione del ponte di un piroscafo ai tempi dell'emigrazione. Nella stessa sede, sempre fino al 12 ottobre la mostra "Cristoforo Colombo: marinai e mercanti" e "L'America precolombiana nella collezione Lunardi". All'interno del Museo, inoltre, il Padiglione della Pesca, un nuovo settore dedicato alla pesca tradizionale. Per finire, esposta in via permanente, "Yachts Portrait", la collezione di Beppe Croce, dove si possono ammirare immagini che testimoniano l'evoluzione delle barche a vela yacht dal 1832 al 1907.

The leading pleasure boating event worldwide, organised by Fiera di Genova SpA and UCINA (the professional association of the Italian pleasure boating industry) - will be back at Genoa fairground. Boasting the attendance of more than 1,650 companies, hundreds of new products on preview and a large number of foreign exhibitors (more than 35% of exhibitors will be from abroad), the show will include the following sectors: power boats, sailing boats, inflatables, engines, technical apparel, fishing and diving equipment, nautical tourism and services.


Genoa is getting ready to give a warm welcome to the 47th International Boat Show visitors, pampering them with a rich selection of exhibitions and events.


At Palazzo Rosso, starting on 4 October, exhibition “Il Tormento e l’Estasi” (Agony and Ecstasy): paintings of St. Sebastian by Guido Reni, a wonderful itinerary through masterpieces from the most important museums in the world. Until 9 December, Palazzo Rosso will also host “Forma e Decorazione – Herend e la via della porcellana” (Shape and Decoration – Herend and the porcelain route), an exhibition displaying highly artistic china coming from one of the leading European production centres, based in Hungary. These wonderful works of art, dating from the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries, will also be on display until 14 October at the Museo d’Arte Orientale (Museum of Eastern Art) Edoardo Chiossone, which will also be the seat, until 30 December,
of an exhibition entitled “Kabuto - l’elmo giapponese” (Kabuto - the Japanese helm), a magnificent collection of ancient helms.

The exhibition "L'Anima delle piccole cose - Arte del quotidiano in Costa d'Avorio" (The soul of small things - Art in day-to-day life from the Ivory Coast) will be held at Castello d’Albertis. This event will feature a selection of objects carved in African dark wood, such as combs, spoon, handloom spindles, music hammers, and small masks, in which the artist has embodied the rituals and myths that are part of social and spiritual life on the Ivory Coast.

Genoa’s Museo della Lanterna (Lighthouse Museum) will host the exhibition “Storia dellaNave in Bottiglia” (History of Ships in a Bottle), where artist Aidano Dallafiora’s great passion for this form of art will be fully expressed by his fascinating collection, including 30 works.
Items on display will include the model of Italian Navy’s school ship Amerigo Vespucci, built inside a Nineteenth century flask (this work was completed in 1983), Columbus's flagship, caravel S. Maria - created in 1980 using natural wood -, and the History of Ships, a very sophisticated work of art, especially considering the far-reaching research that has been carried out on the ten models inserted in the bottle, which range from the 3,500 BC papyrus boat to the first nuclear propulsion steamer "Savannah USA 1959". The exhibition will also feature a due tribute to the symbol of Genoa, "La Lanterna" (the lighthouse), built using small softwood bricks. “Storia della Nave in Bottiglia” will be open until 4 November 2007.

In the new area inside Genoa Aquarium called “Amazon Rivers” a stretch of an Amazon river has been reproduced, with rocks, tree trunks, aquatic and terrestrial plants, and different tropical fish species. The real protagonists will be Cuvier’s dwarf caimans, but the visitors will find other novelties too, including new visitor routes which allow the public to fully immerse themselves in the Costa Edutainment world and to find out about all the secrets and curiosities of a place that never stops surprising and exciting the visitors, but also teaches respect for the environment. Five itineraries – “Pianeta Acquario” (Planet Aquarium), “Acquario Guidato” (Guided Aquarium), “Dall’Acquario alla scoperta della scienza” (From the Aquarium to discovering science), “Dall'Acquario all'avventura della navigazione” (From the Aquarium to the adventure of sailing) – will let all visitors “dive” into the marine world, the

Exhibition “Transatlantici italiani. Dall'unità d’Italia alla seconda Guerra Mondiale” (Italian transatlantic ships. From the Unification of Italy to the Second World War) - Galata Museo del Mare, until 12 October 2007. A journey onboard large steamships, from the very first passenger steamers to wonderful cruising ships, featuring impressive multimedia special effects. The exhibition will include the new “Steamer” hall, with a reproduction of the bridge of a steamer at the times of the Italian migration. The Museum will host two more exhibitions, also held until 12 October: "Cristoforo Colombo: marinai e mercanti" (Christopher Columbus: sailors and merchants) and “L’America precolombiana nella collezione Lunardi” (Pre-Columbian America from the Lunardi collection). Inside the Museum, visitors will also find the Fishing Pavilion, a new sector devoted to traditional fishing. Last but not least, a permanent exhibition: “Yachts Portrait", Beppe Croce’s collection, featuring photographs showing the evolution of sailing boats-yachts from 1832 to 1907.

Other cultural events in town will include the Urban Trekking Day, on 7 October, for those who want to find out more about the city, both in terms of beautiful spots and culture - there will be several itineraries to choose from, with guides; and the Columbian celebrations, which will reach their climax on 12 October and will include meetings, conferences, concerts, ceremonies, and exhibitions in several venues around the city.


The Terracotta Army – a great multimedia work organised in cooperation with Sôsho International and coordinated by the Chinese artist Qikai Zhang - will be held in Piazza De Ferrari until 21 October. Other events and great exhibitions will be on, with works devoted to Chinese art & culture and to the relations between the Western world and China through the centuries.
