In primo piano la Pittura Analitica, da venerdì 22 febbraio a lunedì 25 febbraio 2008 torna in Fiera ArteGenova, il grande appuntamento per gli appassionati e i collezionisti di arte moderna.

Con 600 artisti, 7000 opere di pittura, scultura e fotografia, 80 gallerie provenienti da tutta Italia e 13 case editrici specializzate, Arte Genova, patrocinata da Comune e Provincia di Genova, giunge alla sua quarta edizione forte di un crescente successo di pubblico e vendite che hanno portato ad una rapida crescita della manifestazione.
Arte Genova conferma la lunga tradizione e l'interesse della città verso gli eventi dedicati all'Arte e la Cultura, e si afferma come punto di incontro privilegiato tra galleristi, artisti, esperti d'arte e collezionisti andando a rispondere ad una domanda sempre crescente in una zona ancora in piena espansione.

ArteGenova dedica quest'anno una sezione speciale curata da Giorgio Bonomi alla Pittura Analitica - definita anche in molti altri modi, ma soprattutto Pittura Pittura - nata e sviluppatasi dagli anni Settanta, grazie a critici quali Filiberto Menna, Italo Mussa e, in Germania, Klaus Honnef. La pittura analitica sta vivendo oggi un eccellente momento di successo, visto il numero di mostre, personali e collettive, dei protagonisti della tendenza e il loro andamento sul mercato dell'arte contemporanea.
In occasione di 'ArteGenova con "La pittura analitica. Ieri e oggi" si vuole offrire al visitatore una campionatura dei principali autori della tendenza, certo non esaustiva ma sufficiente a cogliere il valore delle loro opere di ieri e di oggi.
La duplice denominazione, sopra riportata, risponde non solo alle convinzioni teoriche di chi le formulò ma anche ad un diverso "tono" della pittura degli artisti di cui parliamo. Gli artisti cui si applica con maggiore proprietà la dizione "Pittura Analitica", qui Cacciola, Griffa, Pinelli, il primo Verna, Zappettini, sono quelli che furono più sensibili alle filosofie allora di grande successo, lo Strutturalismo e l'Operazionismo.
Certamente in più di trenta anni, gli artisti presentati ad ArteGenova hanno sviluppato il loro lavoro, anche con cambiamenti sensibili, tuttavia il rigore dello sviluppo ha conservato, in ciascuno, la cifra della loro pratica e delle loro convinzioni teorico-poetiche: ci sembra che, in questa mostra, l'esemplarità degli artisti e delle opere, di ieri e di oggi, sia - concedendoci un piccolo gioco linguistico - esemplare.

ArteGenova sarà aperta da venerdì a domenica dalle ore 10.00 alle 20.00; lunedì dalle ore 10.00 alle 13.00. Il biglietto d'ingresso costa 8 Euro, 4 il ridotto.

Analytical Painting will be in the spotlight, from Friday 22 February to Monday 25 February 2008 ArteGenova, the great exhibition devoted to modern art lovers and collectors, will be back at Fiera di Genova.

Featuring this year 7,000 works of art including paintings, sculptures and photographs, 600 participating artists, 80 art galleries from all over Italy, and 13 specialist publishing houses, ArteGenova has attained an increasing success over the years, in terms of both attendances and sales, and is now being held for the fourth time, under the aegis of Genoa City and Provincial Councils.
ArteGenova bears witness to Genoa's long-standing traditions and interest for events devoted to art and culture and once again proves to be an outstanding meeting point for art gallery owners, artists, art experts, and collectors, meeting an ever-increasing demand in a rapidly-expanding sector.

This year ArteGenova will dedicate a special section, curated by Giorgio Bonomi, to Analytical Painting (Pittura Analitica) - also defined in many other ways, particularly "Pittura-Pittura" (literally: Painting-Painting) -, a movement that developed in Italy from the Seventies onwards thanks to critics like Filiberto Menna, Italo Mussa and, in Germany, Klaus Honnef. Analytical painting is currently enjoying tremendous success, considering the number of personal and collective exhibitions held by artists as well as their achievements on the contemporary art market.
ArteGenova's section "La pittura analitica. Ieri e oggi" (Analytical painting. The past and the present) aims at offering visitors an overview of this trend's protagonists, which will by no means be exhaustive, but will at least be enough to become aware of the value or their past and present works.
The two above-mentioned names describing this trend reflect not only the theoretical convictions of those who formulated them, but also a different "tone" in the paintings of the artists we are talking about. The artists that fit the definition "Analytical Painting" the most - in this case Cacciola, Griffa, Pinelli, early Verna, Zappettini - are the ones who were more sensitive to Structuralism and Operationalism, two philosophies that were very successful at that time.
In over thirty years the artists represented at ArteGenova have certainly evolved, sometimes changing considerably. However, their rigorous development has preserved, in each of them, the very core of their practice and of their theoretical-poetic convictions: it seems to us that the exemplarity of the past and present artists and works represented and displayed in this exhibition is - indulging in a small wordplay - really exemplary.

ArteGenova will be open from Friday to Sunday from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm and on Monday from 10.00 am to 1.00 p.m. Admission: 8 Euros, concessions: 4 euros.
